Flag Arizona Flag On sale
The flag of Arizona is composed, in the upper half, by thirteen rays of red and gold representing the 13 counties of the state and the sun of Arizona, while in the lower half it is completely blue, to represent freedom. At the center of the flag, there is a copper-colored five-pointed star to represent the copper mines of the state.
It was designed in 1911 by Colonel Charles W. Harris, head of the Arizona National Guard, as the flag of the US Army military championship shooting team. It was adopted as the flag of the state in 1917.
